The Sunday Serving

So far, it’s been a nesting weekend for me. I’ve made four pillows and am about to embark on Roman Blinds. James has also been flexing his nesting muscle by building things out of wood. And then, of course, there was Eurovision last night – the perfect post-nesting frenzy entertainment. Moldova was definitely robbed and I think the garden gnome look could be a big thing. I’m already designing Abdul’s first gnome hat and buying her a unicycle.

Actually, I have a little confession to make. I didn’t even realise Moldova was a country and I’m pretty good with geography. I thought it was one of those places that’s made up in the movies when they need a country that sounds vaguely European, but doesn’t actually exist. But it does and it is here.

Anyway, today there are a few links I want to share with you. No more Michael Bolton, I promise.

Celebrating Women’s Bodies - As an antidote to all the Photoshopped fun of my Vintage Boudoir shoots, I thought that I would share a nice piece that someone sent me on Twitter. The female form is a beautiful thing and birth only makes it more so.

Birth stories – I hope you got a chance to read the photographer’s birth story I posted on Monday. Here is another good story that I found on a UK blog that I thought might interest you.

What happens next – My mind has understandably started turning to what happens once we get Abdul home. How does one “top and tail”? Do I have the right size nappies? Will I be able to breastfeed? Will the baby sleep? I found this little rant on Babble to be quite good for preparing myself mentally for the time to come.
