The Sunday Serving

Happy Mothers’ Day, America! And thanks to my mistake in thinking it was actually last Sunday, I have managed to get my cards out on time this year. Yea, me.

The Sunday Serving, as usual, is here to bring you the best of other blogs and funny things I’ve found on the Net. Enjoy!

Sexist Vintage adsIn honour of the fact that I’ll be sharing the results of my Vintage Boudoir (TM) maternity shoot with you on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, I thought I’d show you the more seedy side of vintage. I’ve been watching a lot of Mad Men recently, so I’ve been getting a good dose of mid-20th Century sexism. I especially like the ad that says how Lysol douche can help save your marriage.

Sh*t My Students WriteOne day, my little Abdul will be a student and I hope she doesn’t come up with crap like: “Macbeth couldn’t have loved Lady Macbeth because he was crazy and too busy hallucinating witches and stuff. Also, crazy people can’t do it without going crazy midway through.” Very funny. Also very scary.

Belly Art on Babble – Oh! What we preggos get up to with our bellies. These women have painted theirs.

Today’s Nest - I found this fun blog via Twitter. There are loads of great recipes on here and fun things to create. I’m actually getting hungry as I look through it and I think I need to go make me some Chocolate Banana Pudding now.

Those adverts are terrible! It’s mother’s day in SA too.

Oh I love Mad Men, but I know that’s mostly for the amazing style on display….and for Christina Hendricks! I think we all know while we’re watching it that it’s supposed to be an eye opening glimpse of the past. You never get used to the sexism.
