Samsung Galaxy Camera: Week 1
CHRISTMAS PRESENT WARNING: If you have a photographer or blogger in your life, they would love you forever if you bought them this camera. Just sayin’.
Back in August, I was invited by Samsung to Berlin for an event called IFA. It was there that they unveiled the new jewel in their crown: the Galaxy Camera.
I was immediately captivated by it, as I could see the possibilities for saving me time as a blogger. The camera married photographic technology with smart phone capability. From the front, it looks like a normal camera, but from the back, it has a huge touch screen, just like you would use on your Smart phone, whatever the brand.
The exciting thing about the Samsung Galaxy Camera is that I can take a fantastic photo, apply effects to it in camera, and then immediately upload it onto Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or Instagram. I can also upload to my blog and I can email it to whomever I want (usually a doting grandparent). It also takes great video, although I haven’t had the opportunity to play with it yet.
So I was ecstatic when Samsung contacted me to ask me to be one of their Imagelogers, a group of photographers around the world who take images with the camera and then upload five images every Friday to show people what we’ve been up to. This is my first post.
Every time I pull out the camera since I received it, people comment on it, whether they are friends or strangers. People have obviously taken notice of this new class of camera and are watching it with interest. And well they should. So far, I think it’s pretty amazing.
I took these photos on a walk around Merton Abbey Mills, which is where my studio is located. Wednesday morning, we all woke up to a beautiful, frosty world. These are my images. You’ll also be able to see more images taken with this camera on my Instagram (jboggio) and Twitter (juliaboggio) accounts with the hashtag #imageloger (although I’ve also used #samsunggalaxy).
All photos, above, have been shot with the Samsung (Samsung GALAXY Camera), which has been provided by Samsung Electronics. Co., Ltd.
