Feel Good Friday

Apologies for the late posting of the Feel Good Friday blog, but I was busy feeling good. When James said he wanted to have a small soiree to celebrate the royal wedding, neither of us realised it would mean getting the house ready from 7am and greeting guests at 9:30am. However, we’re glad we made the effort…actually, who am I kidding? I played the pregnancy card and stayed in bed, only surfacing in full hair and make-up when the first guest arrived. I’ve eaten so many scones, cupcakes and slices of sponge cake today that I think poor Abdul is in some sort of sugar-induced ecstasy.

BBC Coverage of the Royal WeddingAside from the fact that one of my images is at the bottom of the page (yea, me!), the BBC has done a stellar job of covering Will & Catherine’s wedding today. Pip pip, old chaps.

Twitter – A lot of people say they don’t “get” Twitter, but days like today make me glad I’m a loyal user. The commentary added a whole new layer to the event and my wedding industry buds often had me in stitches. One of my faves came from peoplesrev: “God saved the Queen, but Kate saved McQueen!” Too true.

Knit your own corgi – Just in case you are in the mood to be crafty and royal at the same time, you can download a pattern for knitting your own queenly corgi from this site. And if you are feeling particularly ambitious, knit Madonna too.

Will and Kate’s Charitable Gift Fund – This is a marvellous idea. The site reads “Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton have created a charitable gift fund to help celebrate their wedding…they have asked that anyone wishing to send them a wedding gift consider doing so in the form of a donation to the fund.” In other words, don’t send them a pointless gift that will just be thrown in the bin. Do this instead.
